a happy new era!

It's been changing.

This country is going to embrace the new president, and I turned thirty years old. I'm moving soon finally to a new apartment! Yay! It was a struggle, but like everything else, nothing lasts forever. When you are tired of being tired, you will see something new.

It was like a new year's eve. There were people celebrating this historic day all over the country.

On the day of the historic election, this whole country was so excited to see the new era coming they had never seen for decades, and they made it. They made it together. I was at home watching the results which updates minute by minute, feeling it's coming. I cried when I watched his speech after it's done in front of the overwhelmed crowd of supporters. I was filled with joy that I could see the moment and I could be here to feel it.. It's going to change. People are seeing hope. And they believe in hope. It is not just about politics, but it's about inspiration, culture, and dedication. Barack Obama have brought all those new construction into people's mind, and they received them to recognize what they hoped for. I don't have the right to vote, I'm just one who was observing all those things, but I was so glad to see it happened. I can too, believe in hope again. A happy new era!

歴史的な大統領選の夜、新しい時代の到来に、この国のいたる所で人々は熱狂していました。家で選挙速報をチェックしていた私も、確信に満ちてそれを感じていました。この瞬間を見れたこと、感じることができたことがどれだけ投票権さえない私に影響を及ぼしていたか、思えばおかしなものですが、それは決して大統領選というひとつのイベントとして片付けられるものではなかったと思うのです。

この大統領選における人々の関心の高さ、協力、熱望は今までにないムーブメントを巻き起こして、それは政治という枠を超えて文化やそれぞれの生活自体に多大な影響を与えました。このままではダメになる、これではいけない、と人々が気付いて、今までにない変化を今までになく真摯に実現させようとしたそれぞれの動機の高さでした。オバマは、その種をまいたのです。信じることをあきらめていた人々に、希望を与えてくれました。

開票後のオバマの演説に涙したのは私だけではありません。真実がどこにあろうと、何かを変えようするその心と勇気を与えてくれたオバマと人々の熱狂に感謝なのです。そして、それはまたひとつの真実です。

私はついに引っ越しが決まり、来月から新しい生活が始まります。先日、花の３０代に突入しました。「チェンジ」は、そんなところからでも‥。
