little leo

Just before the finals, I was taking care of adorable Leo (papillon) for ten days at my place while his owner was away for vacation.

Leo is a friend of the bordercollie Leo I'm seeing almost everyday, and we have seen this little Leo at the dogrun once in a while.

He has such big ears. And everybody thinks he is a girl for the very feminine feature and I would say, papillon is a girlie looking breed. Besides, Leo whines ALL THE TIME. Like a baby. He follows me everywhere, even to the bathroom. But he reacts to every single noise and barks at everything, so I was irritated at some point to be honest, but after all, he is not an aggressive one at all.

One night, there was thunder and lightning when I was sleeping, and Leo got really nervous and came to my side at the pillow, and it was really cute...

Another thing about him is that he is so photogenic. Among all the dogs I've tried to photograph, he is the easiest one to take a shot. 

先月の話ですが、、、１０日ほどパピヨンのレオくんをうちで預かっていました。獅子座のレオくんです。いつも見ているボーダーコリーのレオは「ジャングル大帝レオ」かららしいですが。

ちっちゃいレオくんはボーダーコーリーのレオのお友達で、よくドッグランで会っていました。

レオくんは、とにかく耳がでかいです。パピヨン（フランス語で蝶）という名前の由来になったのも納得です。よく女の子に間違えられますが、家でも小さい女の子のようによくクンクンと泣くのです。家の中でもどこでもついてきて、ひとりにされると泣きます。

しかし、どんな小さな物音にも反応して、わんわんと吠えるのはちょっと気にかかりましたが。

あるとき、夜中に寝ているとき雷が鳴りだして、レオが落ち着かなくなり、気がつくと枕元にすり寄ってきていました。それはちょっとかわいかったかも。

もっとかわいかったのは、なにか話しかけるたびに首を右に左に傾げて、「なに？なに？」と聞いてることでした。なのでむやみに意味もなく話しかけてみたり。

そんなレオくんは写真に撮られるのがうまい。ポーズを決めたりとかはしませんが、かわいい顔を正面から撮るのになんの苦労もせず、私はばしばし写真を撮っていました。
