Even my mom complained that I hadn't updated it for long. And I came back after all.

To be honest, I wasn't expecting much about Japan this time, even though this is the visit since almost 5 years ago. One of the reasons is living in New York doesn't really mean I'm far away from home. THE internet has made the world smaller.

But actually, I think I'm having a bit of culture shock. I think Japanese people are the most polite people in the world. I mean, those... shop staff and waiters.. Nothing is wrong with it, but it feels a bit too much to me.

Been here just about a week now, and I have a month here. Will be busy.

日本に帰ってきて早々、母が「結局更新しなかったね」とボヤいておりました。

今回は、４年半ぶりの日本とはいえ、前回に比べるとあまり「日本に帰る！！！！！」と超わくわくモード全開でもなく、それなりに楽しめればよいかなという感じだったのですが、１週間ほど経つ今、なんだか軽いカルチャーショックを受けている感じです。特に、お店とかレストランに行くと、待遇が良すぎてこっちが困っている感じというか‥。なんなんでしょうか、この違和感は。サービス業の方々の態度は、日本が一番じゃないでしょうか。それ自体なんの問題もないんですが、かといって街ですれ違うひとの「どうでも良い感じ」がなんだか微妙です。

とりあえずあと１ヶ月、あっという間に過ぎそうですが。しかし暑い‥。
