castella

Every time my mom sends me something, she put something else. Usually it's a lot, and I can't say how much I appreciate it.
This time, she put one of my favorite sweets, Fukusaya's "castella". It's the best.
Castella is a cake imported to Japan from Portugal in like 16th century. So it's named after Castilla.
What's great about it is the sugar crystal on the bottom of the cake. Love it.


母からの荷物には、いつも「他の物」がたくさん入っていて、それが毎回楽しみだったりするのですが、今回は、福砂屋のカステラ！いぇい。
福砂屋のカステラが一番です。文明堂は二番か三番です。
底の紙をはぐと砂糖の結晶がついていて、ああ、これこれ。なわけです。
