Since I got my Nikon last Christmas, I've never been interested in point-and-shoot cameras - except for film.
Now that Lomography is so popular that people are excited about film photography again, the mood and creativity of photography as an art form is getting more interesting. iPhone has such applications to simulate the creation of that kind of pictures, but when it comes to sort-of high end digital cameras, it's pretty hard to make those "grainy" feeling.
Photoshop would do, but there is no way to play around with something "one-shot" fun, you don't know what the pictures come out like until they are developed.

But going back to film is something you would hesitate to think about the cost of developing the film and organizing them... I actually tried those DSLR adapter and Lomo lens, but they don't do as I expected. Then it seems like that "toy cameras" are in fashion. Cameras with low pixels and no color adjustment hit the spot. Bluish or greenish color casts or vignet effect on pictures make them look like old time film pictures, and give them sort of vintage or Polaroid feeling. There are groups enthusiastic about those cameras on Flickr, and I couldn't resist trying out those toy cameras. It's a totally different way of enjoying photography.

Minimo is manufatured by some Malaysian company called POCKETARTS, and it claims it's a special eddition of Lomography, despite it has nothing to do with Lomo. It has only 2 mega pixels, and the charm is that it generates vignet effect, and it's compatible with a memory card. I had to have it. While toy cameras on the market cost about $30 or less, Minimo was priced about $75 - plus $20 something shipping. It's EXPENSIVE for that category for sure.

Thanks to my mom, I could order it from Japan. (still expensive, though.)

去年のクリスマスにニコンのDSLRを手にして以来、コンパクトなデジカメにはまったく興味がなかったのですが、ウィーン発のロモグラフィーの人気のせいか、フィルムカメラに新たなブームが起こっていて、デジカメでは作れないフィルム特有の雰囲気のある写真に興味がわくようになりました。iPhoneのアプリケーションでも、それっぽい写真を撮るようなものがあるようです。
しかしフィルムの現像とか撮った写真の整理とか、余計なコストを考えると、ロモのカメラには個人的にあまり魅力を感じられなくて、ロモから出されたDSLR用のアダプターでロモのレンズを使ったりもしましたが、期待していたほどでもありませんでした。

そこで最近ブームなのが、低画素で色調補正のないカメラで、青味がかったり、ヴィネットというフレームの端にできる枠（うまく説明できない‥Wikiしてください）ができるトイデジというカテゴリ。Flickrでもトイデジのグループがいくつかあって、トイデジに夢中になるひとが増えています。

ミニモはマレーシアのPOCKET ARTSという会社が作っていて、ロモグラフィーとは一切関係ないのに、ロモのスペシャルエディションと謳っています。（クレームとかがんがん来たと思われ。）

ミニモの魅力は、ロモっぽいあるいはポラロイドっぽい写真が撮れるのと、メモリーカード対応なので、これは欲しい！と思ったわけでした。
トイデジの相場はだいたいこっちでも３０００円くらいなんですが、ミニモはなんと送料込みで１万円以上でした。それでもどこを探しても在庫切れ。しかし欲しい。ミニモを作っている会社に問い合わせてアメリカまで送ってもらおうとしましたが、１万５千円くらいしたので躊躇していたところ、日本のトイデジ屋のサイトで最後のひとつ！があったので、母に頼んで送ってもらいました。（頼もしい母。）
