old little plate

I found this little pretty plate in an antique shop in SoHo. It's chipped at the edge, but I love its dainty design. It's probably not the refined stuff even back then, but it's nice and thin. I love antique and vintage stuff.
It's probably vintage, not so old, and it was $2. I can say ten-dollar new dish wouldn't be this sophisticated today.


ソーホーのアンティークショップでこの小さな皿を見つけました。小さくて、薄くて、なにげない個性のあるものに惹かれます。裏が少し欠けていて、表にも少し割れ目のようなものが見えますが、それはそれで。２ドルでした。
そんなに古い物でもないし、当時でも決して高価なものではなかったでしょうが、大量生産される今の食器では、１０ドル出してもこんなに素敵なものはないと思います。
安い物でもこういうものに囲まれて生活するのは贅沢なのです。
